IT Portfolio and Project Manager Opportunity Summary:

The IT Portfolio and Project Manager maintains the company's technology roadmap, works with stakeholders to determine opportunities to benefit the company using technology, helps determine expected benefits of technology projects, and devises KPIs to measure success. Additionally, they serve as a dedicated project manager who plans and executes projects according to defined scope, schedule, and budget. The Portfolio and Project Manager defines project objectives and oversees quality control throughout its life cycle.

Job Duties:

  • Create business case summaries including cost/benefit analyses in collaboration with IT leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Estimate the resources and skill sets required to successfully complete projects.
  • Identify and manage project timelines, dependencies, and resource conflicts within technology roadmap.
  • Develop technology strategies for stakeholders that align within the overall business strategy.
  • Liaise with portfolio and project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify and leverage potential technology synergies across business units.
  • Effectively communicate project benefits and expectations to project prioritization committee.
  • Assist with non-IT project planning and management to promote consistent experience across all projects.
  • Manage assigned projects following established methodologies to ensure quality delivery within a defined schedule and budget.
  • Lead project communications by establishing report schedules, resolving issues, and delivering data-driven insights to stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage changes in scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of projects.
  • Conduct project retrospectives that identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Project Management, Business, Computer Science or relevant field.
  • Five years' work experience in IT project management.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Project portfolio management skills, including project planning, benefit analysis, and fiscal management.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analyses, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business process optimization and system integration.
  • Demonstrated expertise working with teams across multiple IT disciplines.
  • Ability to form and maintain collaborative partnerships and build consensus on solutions.
  • Experience with technology requirements planning, vendor evaluation, and product selection.
  • Strategic thinking with ability to align technology initiatives to business goals.
  • Proven ability to manage vendors and third-party integrations.
  • Ability to communicate advanced business solutions.
  • Stakeholder management across all organizational levels.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft 365, project planning tools, and modern project portfolio management platforms.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Atlassian software suites preferred.
  • Experience working both independently and in a collaborative environment is essential.
  • Adaptable problem-solver with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse and broadly distributed teams.
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating with a customer first mindset.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
