Journeyman Level Marine Technician Opportunity Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Diesel Marine Engine Technician, who is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and diagnosing both routine maintenance and emergency services on MTU marine engines (yachts, personal and/or commercial vessels) while making maintenance and repair recommendations to customers in the Cabo San Lucas area.

Salary:

• $32.00 to $50.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.

• Applicant must be able to obtain temporary residency in Mexico within 3 months of the hire date.

Job Duties:

• Perform quality repairs and maintenance on MTU Marine Diesel Engines as specified in manufacturer-designed procedures.
• Verify performance by conducting sea trials and making necessary adjustments needed.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork (e.g., repair information on work orders) in a timely manner. Maintain engine and vessel records with documentation of service and repairs
• Perform MTU commissioning trials
• Diagnose failure of vessels, complete engine overhauls as other repairs identified during diagnostic process
• Dedication and adherence to all Company and industry safety standards.
• Inspect vital parts to ensure they are in proper operating conditions.
• Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to clearly communicate with technical support, sales and management
• Provide guidance, assistance and training to apprentice marine technicians as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Frequent travel within an assigned territory or area (AOR)

Work Experience & Qualifications:

• 2+ Years of diesel repair and maintenance experience of marine large bore diesel engines is a plus
• Strong MTU experience
• Strong working knowledge of multiple systems, MTU MCS/RCS electronics, experience with Diasys software, Fluent with electrical multi-meters, troubleshooting diesel engines.
• Strong Laptop/PC and software skills,
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license and insurable.
